Our strongman finally could no longer hold the weight of the large round bale. He is gone from his faithful spot beside a campaign sign. He was gone once before, but later reappeared. I think a strong south wind blew the bale apart that time.This time it is because his owner, Arnie Zent, was unsuccessful in his bid for the Republican nomination for the state House in our local District 30. The nominating meeting or convention for District 30 was held at Solheim Elementary School on Monday. According to our newspaper here in Bismarck, Arnie got 18% of the 83 votes and the winning candidate, Mike Nathe, got 55%. There was one other candidate. This was for a seat vacated by someone not running for re-election.
We miss you already, Mr. Strongman!
