Thunderstroms, Blizzards, and Floods

It is a crazy time to live in North Dakota right now.  It starting flooding around the area Saturday and yesterday we had thunderstorms and today we have a blizzard.  Adding to this problem is the fact that flood waters continue to rise.  Some of the south parts of Bismarck by the river are being evacuated-this is only about two miles from us.  Things like this didn't even happen during the bad winter of 1996-1997.

Bismarck actually had school today-even though there is a no travel advisory in the area.  We did send our kids-the buses were running this morning and it was only 10 minutes late.  Throughout the morning I started reading about flood warnings, bad roads, etc.  Bruce didn't go into work (his office was closed) so he went to get the kids at 11:30.  We had found out after we sent the kids that the kids that didn't come to school wouldn't be counted absent.  

Sometime after noon the sheriff informed the kids school that the kids that were still there needed to go home since the area is in danger of flooding.  I have a feeling our kids won't have school tomorrow since Apple Creek is expected to crest tomorrow.  Hopefully it won't be bad.
