Loren and Kelly had their ultrasound today and they found out they are having a......BOY!! We're very excited! They didn't care one way or another but I know my dad was kind of hoping for a boy. Basically if Loren and Kelly didn't have any sons the Jorgensen name (from my grandpa's family anyway) would be no more so now it will continue on and they really like the name Luke The doctor moved the due date up a few days so now it's looking like it'll be early to mid-July. July seems so far away but it will be here before we know it.
They had taken the earlier blood test that's optional and were told Friday there was a higher chance of the baby having Down's Syndrome and another chromosonal disorder but everything turned out okay. I have heard there's a lot of false positives on those blood tests so we chose never to have it done since we never would have done anything about it anyway. We're happy everything turned out alright.
Tonight Bruce and I went to the meeting for sixth grade parents at the middle school and were told all about the school's policies, etc. It was very informative. Gerrit will get to go with his class to explore the middle school before school gets out in May and then again this summer when he gets his schedule and locker, etc. It is a very confusing place until you know your way around but they keep the kids seperated by grades so he'll only be around other seventh graders. There's over 800 kids in the school. I remember how big our Junior High seemed to us when we got to go as sixth graders and then when you go back to visit after you're in high school it seems kind of small. We have to sit down with Gerrit tomorrow night and plan what electives he's taking. He has quite a few choices with Latin being one of them.
