This video covers the story behind the song It Is Well With My Soul. The song writer (words only) was Horatio Spafford. I had heard the story of him writing the song after he had lost his daughters to a ship wreck, but did not know the other background stories and what his family did after that.

The site is selling copies of the manuscript, and it also has a history of the song as written by his daughter (born after the song was written). The music for the song was written by Philip Bliss. According to Wikipedia, Mr. Bliss also wrote other well known hymns such as Almost Persuaded, Hallelujah, What a Savior!, and Wonderful Words of Life.
