Welcome to the world Luke

Luke Carl Jorgensen was born at 11:01 a.m. today, June 10, 2009, which happens to be his cousin's Estelle's first birthday and is exactly 107 years to the date that his great grandpa Pederson was born in Norway. Loren and Kelly choose the name Luke just because they like it and Carl is Kelly's dad's middle name and Loren and I had an uncle and great grandpa named Carl.

Luke weighed in at 5 pounds 6 ounces and is 17 1/4 inches long-not bad for being five weeks early! Mom said his lungs must be good because he can really cry. He is getting oxygen and has an IV. He also had to have a blood transfusion this afternoon. I'm not sure why-it must have to do with the vasa previa.

Kelly is doing okay and as of two o'clock neither Loren or Kelly had gotten to hold Luke yet although Loren had been able to hold his hand. Loren said he has blue eyes and not too much hair. I can't wait to see some pictures of my new nephew!
