A Zoo Visit

On Thursday evening of the week Nancy was in Rochester with her mom I took the kids on a quick trip to the zoo. We picked up a couple of Little Caesar's pizzas and had a nice supper at one of the Sertoma shelters. We got in the zoo at about 6:30 and it closes for entrance at 7:00. The grounds are open until 7:30 so we were a little rushed but not too bad.

Of course, the kids amassed several quarters before we left the house in anticipation of purchasing feed for the animals. Samantha's technique was to feed one kernel at a time - which was sort of maddening for a parent in a hurry to see the Siberian tigers and snow leopards for the first time!

The white one lounging in the grass and weeds.

The kids posed in front of the snow leopard enclosure. Unfortunately, both leopards were pacing the fence at the back. Nancy saw this picture and couldn't believe Donovan had his arm around Aleah. Seriously, though, they get along pretty well. We have to separate them in church not because they fight but because they talk with each other too much.

Badgers are cool.

These five dogs were enjoying the corn thrown to them by the children. They are some laid back dudes.

As usual, at the end of our zoo visit they spent some time at the playground. Donovan was actually not feeling well and had lain down to rest. He was feeling better by the time we got home.

By the way, it really is Loew not Lowe.
