This is the Bismarck Airport in 1965. Here we are southeast (and above) the terminal, looking to the northwest. The building you see just past the airport is the current Runway Express c-store slash Honda or import car service shop. It is hard to see, but it does not look like the current Airport Road going north past Runway Express has been built yet. Just look at all the undeveloped areas that are now completely developed. All this in only a little over forty years.I don't remember for sure where I got the photo, but I think I saved it from the Photographic History of Bismarck portion of the Bismarck Library web site. If you have the time it is interesting to look through all the pictures, and there are a lot.
Did you know the Bismarck Library has framed art prints that you can check out for 60 days? They are viewable on the web site and are on display in the library. I've walked through and looked at them, and many are pretty nice. Before my current life in a cubicle, when I had a private office, I always thought it would be nice to check those out to put in my office. Every 60 days or so you could then go and pick out some new art for a fresh look.
