Lunches, special birthdays, and time with friends

I forgot in my earlier post to blog about what I have done on my rare days off. Last week on Wednesday (after Gerrit got braces) I met Karen and Barb for lunch. We have tried to meet for lunch once a month before book club during the school year. The first day of school last fall we did pedicures and lunch since our "babies" started school and we had a lot of fun. As long as Karen is able to get to Bismarck (she lives in Washburn) we meet for lunch and we have a great time. There's now only one more month left before summer starts and our lunches will have to wait until school starts again. We have decided that in May we are going to do the pedicure/lunch thing again. We just had so much fun. Loren and Kelly gave me money for my birthday for a pedicure so I believe I will use that in May-I just wouldn't have gotten much use out of it before since my feet had to have socks on to stay warm with all the snow from the winter.

At book club my friend Tricia had a special birthday-the same one I had three months ago-so I decorated real quick (using what was used at my birthday) and made some yummy banana bars and we celebrated her day. The month before there were three people in book club that had birthdays-no special birthdays-but all birthdays deserve celebration so I made chocolate cake. I love my time with my book club friends!

Thursday I just subbed in the morning-for a really good class-and then I met some college friends for lunch at Johnny Carnino's. Wendy and Marsha were in town for the Elton John concert the night before. We had a good visit and feel we need to get together in Minot again with our group of friends from college this summer for another reunion especially since we've all been celebrating our special birthdays!

This week I do have another lunch planned with Barb, Tricia, and Vicki to celebrate the April birthdays-Tricia's and Vicki's. We manage to get together to bake cookies at Christmas and for each other's birthdays. We all work now so it's a challenge.
